Individuals applying for approval as an Escrow Officer or Designated Escrow Officer in Washington must take and pass the new licensing test offered by PearsonVUE.
How to Register for the Test
Registration for the Escrow Officer test can be done online or via the phone. Walk-in tests are not available. Follow the instructions in the Candidate Handbook to register. PearsonVUE offers many testing center locations around the country.

After Passing the Test
Keep your original test pass certificate.
Send a copy of the certificate to DFI along with your Escrow Officer or Designated Escrow Officer application.

Studying for the Test
The escrow test is robust. Studying and preparation is recommended. You may find some helpful information on the websites of the Escrow Association of Washington (EAW) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) linked below. The EAW site has links to online courses and study materials. The link to CFPB takes you to the RESPA section of that website. The test includes a section that tests your proficiency in manually calculating bank account reconciliations and completing a final settlement statement.
