The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), Securities Division, has received a complaint from a Washington resident regarding a purported cryptocurrency trading platform called Mic-Markets, available at https://pc.micmarketsltd.com(link is external)

The investor was invited to trade on the Mic-Markets website by someone they met on a dating site. They soon began communicating on WhatsApp. The investor traded cryptocurrency on the platform and saw their account dramatically increase in value in a short period. When the investor tried to withdraw their profits, Mic-Markets required them to pay multiple fees. The investor has been unable to withdraw their funds and has lost their entire investment.

These allegations have not been verified by DFI.
