DFI collaborates with sovereign Indian Tribes through a government-to-government relationship. Our focus is on building a foundation of mutual respect, shared priorities, and collaboration. Together, we work within dual government regulations to address disparities, promote equity, and protect tribal sovereignty.

Tribal nations or individuals can connect with DFI’s Tribal Liaison to:
- Share Your Story: Help us understand your priorities and the issues that matter most to your community.
- Request Support: Ask for presentations, resources, or participation in community gatherings.
- Clarify Rules: Get guidance on Washington State and U.S. regulations when operating outside of Tribal lands or serving non-Indians.
