Financial Organizations or Depository Institutions can receive information on how to become a Certified Acceptance Agent (CAA).  Currently there is only one Certified Acceptance Agent in the State of Washington.  Community and agency partners are hoping more institutions will consider becoming a Certified Acceptance Agent.

Certified Acceptance Agents (CAA) are persons or entities who are authorized by the IRS to assist individuals and other foreign persons who do not qualify for a Social Security Number but who still need a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). The acceptance agent facilitates the application process by reviewing the necessary documents and forwarding completed Forms W-7 to IRS.
