Message from Rick St. Onge

Welcome Spring,

Each year Spring brings change, and it always seems to be a little different. Spring at DFI brought some surprises for us as well. Director Gloria Papiez retired as of April 1. Our Division Director Charlie Clark was appointed Agency Director, and I was appointed as Acting Division Director of Consumer Services. I come to this position with a well-rounded background of 15 years in the mortgage industry and 16 years here in the Division of Consumer Services. I also continue to serve as the President of the Money Transmitter Regulators Association (MTRA). I understand and appreciate the value of having vibrant financial service providers in the market place and also the importance and delicate balance of being a regulatory agency charged with protecting consumers.

My first task as Acting Division Director was to appoint an Acting Program Manager in the Examinations Unit. Anya Tabb has graciously accepted the position. Anya has done a great job as the Examinations Supervisor of the Consumer Loan and Mortgage Broker originations program. Anya is also currently on the Multi-state Mortgage Committee (MMC). In addition, Anya was previously in the mortgage industry. Please welcome her to her new role.

I look forward to working with our industry partners and building collaborative relationships. Together we can work together to support a healthy financial services industry and help you be compliant with state and federal laws.

Richard St. Onge
Acting Division Director
