Whether you’ve seen something suspicious or been a victim of fraud, you should always report it.
Providing details of what happened can help prevent the same thing happening to others.
What type of scam would you like to report?
The Washington State DFI handles complaints banks and credit unions. To report fraud to the DFI:
- Go to DFI Complaint Form.
File a report with your local police department as well as report the fraud to IdentityTheft.gov
- Go to www.identitytheft.gov.

Your Local Police
All fraud that is a crime should be reported to your local police department. Provide them with all the documentation you have gathered.
Gather Documentation
Collect all relevant information and documentation related to the fraud. This may include:
- Copies of emails or messages from the fraudster.
- Bank statements showing unauthorized transactions.
- Credit reports with suspicious activities.
- Any other documentation that supports your claim.
Monitor Your Accounts
