2025 Annual Assessment Filing System Available

It’s time for Money Transmitter and Currency Exchanger licensees to file their 2025 Annual Assessment. All filings and payments must be completed by close of business on July 1, 2026, to avoid late penalties.

A completed filing means you submitted your annual assessment, including attesting to the accuracy of the report and making electronic payment, through the online filing system and uploaded all necessary documents/information in NMLS.

To get started, visit the Money Transmitters and Currency Exchangers Annual Assessment website for important information.

Licensees are strongly encouraged to begin the process of filing early to ensure a timely filing.

Surety Bond Compliance

A reminder to Money Transmitter licensees that now is the time to review the amount of your Washington State surety bond. Bond amounts are based on prior year activity in Washington and must be adjusted annually in conjunction with your annual assessment filing.

Adjusting your bond amount is done by the surety provider via a rider issued in NMLS which is marked “ready” by the licensee in NMLS.

Addition of Two New Business Activities in NMLS

NMLS has added two new business activities to the system. The activities pertain to Issuing Payment Stablecoin and Virtual Currency Kiosk Operation. These new business activities are now available in NMLS and SES. See the Business Activity Definitions List for more on the new business activities.

Reminder –Authorized Delegate Reporting

Don’t forget! Any authorized delegate change must be reported within 30 days of the change. All reporting is done through NMLS.
