Helping Washington residents of all ages improve their financial skills and capabilities is part of DFI’s core mission. It’s also become a core tenet of DFI’s Director of Communications, Lyn Peters.
Lyn has spent the past 12 years working to ensure DFI is a leader in the world of financial education. Her partnership development with multiple local and national organizations helps ensure Washington students and educators have access to financial education resources.
Lyn is known as the one to call if you need connections to a financial education resource or partner in Washington State.
Last month, Lyn was named President of the Washington Jump$tart Coalition. Jump$tart Washington is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to promote the personal financial literacy of Washingtonians, with a primary emphasis on K-College youth.
Jump$tart Washington sponsors teacher training seminars, special events for Washington residents interested in promoting financial education in our state, and presentations and outreach throughout the state. Jump$tart Washington members include individuals, public and private organizations, state agencies, educators, and non-profit associations.
Also joining Lyn on the Jump$tart Washington board is DFI’s Katrina Roy, who will serve as Vice President.
