1st - 4th Grade Classrooms Sought for Washington Money Smart Week Reading Days

Friday, February 1, 2019

The Jump$tart Washington Coalition — a non-profit coalition dedicated to financial education for K-12 children — is sponsoring Financial Literacy Reading Days in Washington classrooms during Money Smart Week – March 30 - April 6.

Reading Days give our community leaders a chance to go into local schools and read a storybook with a financial education theme.

We are currently seeking classrooms across the state to host local readers.

About This Year's Book

This year’s book is called “Prices! Prices! Prices! Why They Go Up and Down” by David A. Adler. This book discusses how supply and demand make prices fluctuate.

This year we will also include a lesson plan for readers to walk the students through after the reading.

How To Sign Up Your Classroom

If you'd like your classroom to participate, please fill out our classroom interest form.

You will fill out your availability for the March/April timeframe and let us know if there is someone specific you would like to have come read to your classroom.
