Changes to Federal law will impact repayment plans for student loan borrowers. Due to these changes, Parent PLUS loan borrowers will no longer have access to income-driven repayment (IDR) plans unless they consolidate their loan(s) into a new Direct Consolidation Loan.

If you have Parent PLUS loans and want access to more affordable monthly payments, you may apply to consolidate your Parent PLUS loans into a new Direct Consolidation Loan before April 1, 2026
