The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), Securities Division received a complaint from a Washington resident regarding a purported cryptocurrency trading platform named QuickOK Exchange Co., Ltd. (www.qokex.com).

The investor joined a WhatsApp group and was directed to create an account on the website for QuickOK Exchange Co., Ltd.  The website states that it is the “world’s leading digital asset trading platform” and is used by “30 million users in 90 countries around the world.”

The Washington resident made multiple investments of crypto assets using wallet addresses that were provided to him.  The investor traded cryptocurrency on the QuickOK platform and saw his account dramatically increase in value in a short time period to over $1.4 million.  When the investor tried to withdraw his profits, the firm refused to process his request unless he deposited additional funds, falsely claiming that this was a requirement mandated by financial regulators including FINRA and the SEC.
