The investor learned about Sunrise Pact Investment Alliance, Ltd. (the “Alliance”) through social media. The investor exchanged WhatsApp messages with two purported investment advisers affiliated with the Alliance: Alaric Wainwright and Grant Mercer. The investor also exchanged messages with their purported assistant, Clara Ellison. The advisers recommended the trading platform Wisdomelite to the investor. After an initial successful withdrawal, the investor sent increasingly large sums of ETH to Wisdomelite in 2025. The investor was also purportedly “loaned” USDC by the Alliance to participate in trading activities. They were later told that they needed to repay the loan to lift restrictions placed on their account. The investor tendered USDC to pay off the loan. The individuals affiliated with the Alliance stopped communicating with the investor. The Wisdomelite platform is no longer accessible. The investor lost approximately 60,000 euros.
How to Avoid Becoming Victim of a Scam
DFI urges consumers to exercise extreme caution before responding to any solicitation offering investment advice or financial services. Investment professionals need to be licensed with DFI to offer investments to Washington residents.
