The investor was introduced to the Coindfx cryptocurrency platform at https://coindfx.com by a young woman, purportedly. “Massive” returns were promised. The investor was persuaded to contribute increasing amounts of money on the Coindfx trading platform. After trading, the investor tried to withdraw money from the platform but was told that they had to pay a $27,000 “IRS fee” or else the account would be frozen. The investor has been unable to recover any funds and lost approximately $20,000.
