Alicia Diefenbach is the president and founder of Consumer University, a company devoted to developing high quality investor and financial education programs. Alicia is known for her energetic, quirky, and innovative approach to financial education. If you’re lucky, you may learn how much it costs to maintain a pink mohawk and how those resources, allocated towards savings and investments, can add up to a financially sound future thanks to the magic of compounding interest.

After regulating the financial services industries for over 9 years, Alicia launched Consumer University in 2003. Alicia wanted to take her knowledge of scams and frauds to the public, creating educational programs that help people identify and avoid financial crimes, while increasing their own personal wealth through sound investments, and increased savings.

Lyn Peters is the Director of Communications for the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). Before joining DFI, Lyn spent six years working on boats in Alaska and 12 years serving Western Washington communities as a reporter, editor and readership editor for community newspapers..

Lyn has a passion for financial education and volunteers much of her private time to help the cause. She sits on many financial education boards and commissions.

Jeremy J. Lushene

Jeremy Lushene is the Webmaster and Communications Consultant for the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). Jeremy loves to get out from behind the computer screen and teach Washington residents about what DFI does and how they can better manage their finances.

Before joining DFI, Jeremy spent several years at various .com startups as a Web developer. He brings energy, technology, and good musical taste to the team.
