Renewal Steps

Follow this step to submit a renewal request for Consumer Loan License(s):

  1. Attestation And Renewal Submission
Log into your NMLS account and attest to your record. Once your record is attested to, a renewal request can be submitted in the NMLS. This involves paying the NMLS system fees via credit card or ACH.
  2. Updated License
Once DFI approves your renewal request, you will be emailed an updated license. We are reissuing all Consumer Loan licenses this year due to a change in license numbers. Effective January 2010, DFI will use the location’s NMLS number as its license number, replacing the old 520-CL-XXXXX format.

If you are an individual and you know your user name, there is a “Forgot Password” option on the NMLS login screen. If you do not know your user name, you must contact the NMLS Call Center. You can reach them at (240) 386-4444.

Who can I call for help navigating the renewal system in the NMLS?
