Officials to Announce Fraudulent Business Opportunity Sweep

The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions announces a business opportunity sweep in conjunction with the Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, and U.S. Postal Inspection Service. A press conference regarding a federal and state law enforcement sweep targeting fraudulent business opportunities and work-at-home scams will be Tuesday, December 12 at 10:30 a.m. EST. The press conference will announce more than 100 law enforcement actions and new educational materials. Consumers who invested in fraudulent business opportunities will also be telling their stories.
