Consumer Alert:
Finance Fund Loan Company

Possible Advance Fee Loan Scam

July 03, 2012

The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) received a complaint from a consumer stating Finance Fund Loan Company had an advertisement on Craigslist.com claiming they were a loan company. The consumer alleged the entity advised the consumer to fill out an application and pay a loan registration fee.

Finance Fund Loan Company is not licensed with DFI and is not registered to do business with the Washington Secretary of State or Department of Revenue.

The entity’s mailing address is 401 NE Northgate Way, Seattle WA 98125; however, this does not appear to be a valid address. DFI was unable to verify its identity or contact information, and it does not appear to be a legitimate business.

Verify Licenses

DFI strongly recommends that consumers deal only with those lenders that are properly licensed to conduct business. Consumers can determine whether lenders are properly licensed using the "Verify a License" feature on the DFI’s website at www.dfi.wa.gov/consumers/findcompany.htm.
